COVID-19 still sweeping across the nation

COVID-19 continues to make its way across the United States and still taking lives as it goes. Since March 2020, the U.S. has had a total of 19,301,543 confirmed cases and has seen 334,836 deaths from the virus. Oklahoma cases are still running high with a total of 282,587 confirmed cases. Of this number, 35,528 cases are still active and 2,348 Oklahomans have lost their lives to this deadly virus. Creek County has a total of 3,975 with 63 deaths. Bristow continues to see a rise in cases with 579 confirmed cases since March. Unfortunately, Bristow has recently lost two more lives, with a total now of 13 deaths.

According to the Oklahoma Health Department, the age group of 18-35 is claiming 32 percent of cases.

The age group of 36-49 is at 22 percent, age group 50-64 is at 19 percent, 65 plus is running at 15%. The younger age group of 5-7 is at 11 percent and two percent is in the age group of 0-4.

Oklahoma to date has received 122,750 doses of the vaccine and has administered 29,725 doses.
