Body

Recently there was a social media post made that showed an animal in distress. Within a short period of time, our Animal Control Officer had been “tagged” by several people. I am writing this as a reminder that in order to “officially” reach the ACO, a call needs to be made to the Police Dispatcher (918 367-2252.)

At the time of this writing, Bristow PD is involved, as well as the Attorney General, and the Creek Nation Game Warden. Other government and law enforcement agencies and entities will be part of this investigation. The initial call into the PD is the official start of the investigation timeline. In this situation, no one in the police department was aware of the social media post until a call was made to the PD and then things unfolded.

This was serious. This was a felony. I am writing to remind everyone that if there is a situation that requires the attention of police, fire or any other city service, please call, rather than post.

After hours, the PD is the point of contact for all city services.
