In the world we live in, people seem to be so beaten down by the everyday struggles of life.

Some seem to be so tired and weary. There is even an illness “chronic fatigue syndrome.”

Doctors can actually do little about the problem if you suffer from it. About the best that they can do is give you some sleeping pills and muscle relaxers, but that does not cure the problem it only hides it. If you suffer from this disease, wouldn’t you rather find a cure for your weariness—than a Band-Aid? BUT WAIT—there is a cure for your problem of fatigue and weariness. So, how does God feel about us fretting and worrying about stuff in everyday life.

In Psalm 37:1-8, the psalmist writes: “ 1 Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD AND wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.”

Do you worry? Worrying and Fretting are synonymous terms— they mean the same thing.

The average person’s worry is focused on: 40% of things that will never happen, 30% of things about the past that cannot be changed, 12% of things relating to the criticism by others, mostly untrue, 10% about health, which gets worse with stress and worry, and 8% about real problems that we face.

Oswald Chambers, in his book about prayer, If You Will Ask, says, “. . . worry means there is something over which we cannot have our own way, and in reality, is a personal irritation to God.” Worry is the number one stealer of joy in life, it is a thief. Worry diminishes the benefits, the hopes, and the dreams of many people because it takes from us clarity of thinking and diminishes our walk of faith.

Jesus is our Burden Bearer. He can heal your financial situation— provide for your needs. He can heal your broken-down marriage— put love back in your heart. He can heal your drug— ridden children and make them whole again. He can heal that dysfunctional relationship between you and your family and make it whole. All of these are burdens of sorts and sometimes we have to go through some trials in life. There is a magnificent answer if we will but just claim it— in Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus said: “ 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” If you want rest, Jesus said to,“COME,” “TAKE,” and “LEARN”
