Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor, This town and its people hold such a dear place in my heart. We have a treasure that is becoming more and more rare around this nation, and that is our old fashioned valvues and moral integrity. those precious jewells along with patriotism ad the fear and adoration of our creator are all things quickly fading around this blessed nation because of a dangerous mind set of leaders who aren't listening to the voice of the people.

Don't believe these lies that your vote no longer matters. As a town we were recently asked to vote on the possiblility of changing our way of city government to a city manager, where the power would peminantly shift from the people to one flawed individual who would hold more power andcontrol over a town and its finances than any single person should ever obtain. Thankfully the voice of the people was heard and that vote shut down the new era of 'change and progress' andour town held on to its old fashioned roots for just a little while longer.

I write this letter from deep concern that a plan is set into motion to ignore the votes of the majority of our citizens who refuse to allow the 'change and progress' that's destroying other states and destroying our nation in many ways. Many of those who carried the torch for bringing in a new city manager form of government to our old fashinoned town, are the very ones shouting the praises of only one mayoral candidate who was also all for changing the town. sadly, instead of realizing the voice of the people was heard and then shifting directions toward unity and growth to serve our towns citizens in the way of the people, plans were set into motion to sneak that change into power through a process of changing out mayoral candidates with one who would then assign a day to day operation manager shifting the towns way of life government over to the very process the town voted against.

I know that there is never any individual completely perfect for any job because we are all flawed individuals, but I do believe that with much prayer we will all receive wisdom from on high and can use our own common sense to make a choice for what is best for our old fashioned patriotic, God fearing town of Bristow.

I try and forget all gossip and hear say about all those on the ballot and believe you me, the drama that has infested far too many people in small town America has caused some of the most ridiculous lies to be started about all candidates and citizens alike.

I look at their track records and all they've done for the community and ignore any and all promises.

I ask myself, does each candidate support local businesses, do I see them actually eating and shopping in town, or even at school events supporting our local kids.

Anyone running for any public office can make promises of change and offer hope, but if their daily routine and lifestyle hasn't backed up their claims of love for our old fashioned values and support of small businesses and work at trying to bring new businesses to this community, that should resound much louder that empty promises of change and progress bringing a better way of life for or town or for any town.

Thanks for your time, Concerned citizen, Justice Fisher
