Dear Editor, City of Bristow Mayoral election is February 14, 2023.

I see this as an employment process. 3 applicants made application for the position of Mayor. Each applicant is eligible. Phase one is complete.

During the second phase is the opportune time for the applicants to interact with the citizens(employer). The applicant who is elected will work for us. All applicants should participate in a forum/interview setting. I'm not the only one who wants to see how each wouldanswerquestions. The spontaneity, honesty, communication skills and their body language. Theelectedwinner will be the face and spokesperson for Bristow. How will we know if any can represent us to the world in an intelligent manner if we cannot conduct an interview??? If an applicant chooses to not participate in an interview, employers do not hire the applicant. This forum/interview is the time where each applicant should be selling the citizenship (employer) why we should vote/hire them to be Mayor of Bristow.

I’ve seen the recommendation to submit questions and post the answers on Facebook. How do we know the validity of those answers and if the opinion is a true representation of the candidate?? My interpretation and yours may not be the same in reading answers on social media. It is like buying a business without seeing and having it inspected before taking ownership. No one would do that!

I suggest each citizen take the time to review our hiring process prior to election day. On election day, cast your vote for the one applicant who YOU believe gives The City of Bristow the best leadership to move forward.

No matter your selection, make sure you vote February 14, 2023.
