Anna Q (Phillips) Dobrinski, 1926 - 2020

Body
Anna Q was born July 24, 1926 to Jay Calvin and Nettie Lou (Loftis) Phillips. Jay homesteaded in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Remarkably, all 11 of their children lived into adulthood. Anna had an active childhood swimming, climbing trees and riding horses. She and her mother were both known to be excellent cooks. The letter Q being the whole of Anna’s middle name led her to often use the full name of others. She graduated from Jay High School and briefly taught in a one-room schoolhouse.

“Whaddya Mean – I Owe Money?!”

Body
When Andy was an elevenyear-old boy, he and his eight-year-old brother decided they were old enough to buy some calves to raise. This meant feeding, watering and daily maintenance - freezing temperatures or blazing sun, all of it was still going to be their responsibility. Their dad talked to them about not only the physical commitment and tasks they were taking on, but also the financial obligations. (Two fairly big words for two little boys to understand.)
