Bristow Noon Lions Club, and the Depew Future Farmers of America, conducted a vision screening on students at the Gypsy School

Members of the Bristow Noon Lions Club, and the Depew Future Farmers of America, conducted a vision screening on students at the Gypsy School on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The screening is done with a special electronic camera, which detects potential vision issues. When an issue is detected, a form is issued to be given to the child’s parents or guardians, encouraging them to have a complete professional eye exam. When vision issues are detected and corrected, students may have better outcomes in school.

The Bristow Noon Lions Club is a local chapter of Lions Clubs International. Lions Clubs were founded in 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. Today, there are thousands of local clubs and over one million members around the world. Lions clubs participate in a variety of service projects to help their neighbors and communities. Many projects deal with work for the blind and visually impaired.

If you are interested in learning more about the Lions, they meet Wednesdays during the school year from noon to one o’clock, at the United Methodist Church in Bristow, E. 7th Ave. and North Chestnut Street. Please come and be our guest!
