On Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, the Creek County Sheriff (CCS) was dispatched to an assault and battery complaint on Fairway Ave. in Kellyville. Upon arrival the deputies made contact with a woman, Jenifer Rubenking, standing in the driveway. According to a records search done by CCS dispatch, it showed that Mrs. Rubenking had an outstanding warrant, therefore, she was taken into custody.
The deputies then made contact with the reporting party of the assault and battery call, Robert Rubenking. While speaking with Mr. Rubenking, the deputies noticed three severely emaciated dogs in the front yard of the residence. The deputies reported that the dog's rib structure could be seen through their fur along with the animals rib bones sticking out. The dogs had severe loss of muscle tone causing all their joints to look enlarged. A search turned up a fourth and fifth dog, one of which was deceased. The report states that none of the dogs had access to either water or food and each one was attached to a 6 to 8 foot long chain which kept them confined to stay near their make shift shelter.
The probable cause report states that based upon the deceased dog and the remaining four's body conditions, both Jennifer and Robert Rubenking were taken into custody for allegedly, wilfully depriving their dogs of the necessary food and drink needed. Both have been charged with five counts each of cruelty to animals and a bond of $3,000 each has been set.
