Get ready to mark your calendars for a good day in Bristow! The second annual Bristow C.A.R.E.S. is happening on September 6, 2025, at Bristow High School’s Chuck West Field House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After a fantastic kickoff in 2024 that brought hundreds of folks together for resources on everything from overcoming substance abuse to tackling financial hurdles, this year’s event is leveling up with even more to offer. Think more recovery programs, helpful workshops, employment services, assistance in pregnancy/childcare and much more.
This year, over 20 organizations are joining forces to create a warm, welcoming vibe. You’ll find addiction support, free diapers, fresh haircuts, tasty food, and bouncy inflatables to keep the kids (and maybe some adults) grinning from ear to ear. It’s all about bringing hope and practical help to anyone who walks through the doors.
Bristow C.A.R.E.S. (that’s Community Alliance for Resources, Education, and Support, for those wondering) is now its own nonprofit, which means they’ve got more wiggle room for funding and spread the word. But don’t worry they’re still all about Bristow, teaming up with local churches, volunteers, and big-hearted leaders like Mayor Kris Wyatt and Sarah Emrich. Mayor Wyatt, who’s been a cheerleader for this event from the start, says last year’s event opened her eyes to resources she didn’t even know existed. Now, she’s helping connect families with the support they need, and this year’s event is doubling down on making it easier for everyone to ask for help without feeling judged. It’s all about building a community where people feel empowered to thrive.
Want to get in on the action? Volunteers are the heartbeat of this event, and there’s a spot for anyone who wants to pitch in—whether it’s setting up, running a fun activity booth, or just spreading good vibes. This year, they’re adding new workshops on money smarts and mental health to give folks practical tools for a brighter future. So, come on out to discover resources, make new friends, and help make Bristow an even stronger, happier place to call home. Want to volunteer or learn more?
