In the first part of September 2020, the Bristow News published a story about a Gypsy man who had allegedly killed his five year old daughter. Adam Mason was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of Adley Grace Mason. According to reports at the time of his arrest, Mason told the police he believed his daughter was controlled by witchcraft; therefore, he killed her. Mason first beat her in the head repeatedly, took her to a creek that was nearby, drowned her, then put a tire on top of her and set her small body on fire, then walked away. Police later found him about a mile away, shirtless, hiding in a neighbors backyard.
Mason had just been released from prison in 2019, and had previous convictions including rape and failure to register as a sex offender.
This is now a conviction. Last week, Mason was sentenced to federal prison for life, after pleading guilty to second degree murder.
