As we all know, the Bristow Police Department always puts on the Sam Varner Memorial Fireworks Show for the community. This year it is scheduled for July 5, 2025. If you have ever attended the firework show, it is a very nice, peaceful and entertaining display at Lake Massena for the entire family to enjoy. The department does a great job for the community but are only able to do this with the help and assistance of donations from the community. A lot goes into putting on this display. A professional who is trained in shooting off the fireworks is hired; Kendra Raney and Kevin Webster donate their time to help set up the display. There is the possibility that this year the event may not happen. The donations that have been received are not nearly enough to cover the cost. The total cost to put on a nice display is approximately $11,000. As of now, the department has not received even half of that amount. A check for ¾ of the total amount has to be paid to the fireworks company by June 20. If no more donations are received, the event will not take place and all donations that have been received will be returned to the donator. Donations are needed to keep this annual family event going. Let's make this happen, every dollar counts.
