This week BHS said goodbye to one of their best teachers. Coach ‘Tank’ taught at Bristow for 38 years before finally retiring this year, covering everything AP classes, to biology, to zoology. During his time here he also coached tennis and basketball, for over twenty years each. He is an absolute delight in the classroom, always making sure that everyone is comfortable, and making sure students know it is okay to be wrong sometimes. In class, Coach might seem very serious, but that is just a front. Once you warm up to him a bit you will realize that he just likes to get things done. Despite his scariness at first He makes every effort to make class fun for his students though, too. From field trips to labs, he makes things fun. Coach Tank loves to laugh, so if you ask him something, be prepared for the joke answer first. One of his favorite things to say is, “Always go with your first thought, unless your first thought is wrong, then go with your second thought.” Which perfectly highlights what it is like to share a classroom with him. Overall, Bristow is truly thankful for their time with him, and we wish him luck on all future endeavors.
