The Rotary Club is a national group of business, professional, and community leaders who come together to make a positive difference. Their main goal is to help others, both in the community and around the world. Simply put, the Rotary Club is about helping people.
Fire Chief Charles Conkling, guest speaker, spoke about the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing and how things have changed for first responders due to the events of that day and the changes of the local fire department from 30 years ago to now. Chief Conkling shared how the department has evolved, from limited resources and equipment, to more firefighters and useful equipment along with the use of Narcan in the area.
Rotary Club members asked about fire safety, community preparedness, and how to support local responders.
The Rotary Club continues to serve the community as they support and celebrate the locals in a better Bristow and a better world, and continue to help serve from local events to national. Keep your eyes out for them in local events, including the favorite Touch-a-Truck event where they help in providing backpacks and school supplies.
