The Bristow Community Center will be celebrating and hosting the 2025 Black History Event Program “Celebrating Excellence in the Bristow Community”.
This program begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at the Bristow First United Methodist Church at 7th and Chestnut, the public is invited to attend.
The special guest speaker will be Dr. Jennettie Haynes Marshall. Dr. Marshall represented the largest of seven districts which includes the majority of North Tulsa, and parts of west and east Tulsa on the Tulsa Public School Board of Education, serving from 2017 through 2025.
Dr. Marshall has been engaged in pastoral ministry through preaching, teaching and service for over thirty-two years. She has served various congregations throughout the State of Oklahoma.
Dr. Marshall’s academic accomplishments include Associates of Arts in Political Science (Tulsa Junior College), Associates of Applied Science in Funeral Service (Dallas Institute of Funeral Service) Bachelor of Science in Corrections (Langston University), and Master of Science in Management (Southern Nazarene University), Master of Religious Arts in Divinity and a Doctorate in Pastoral Psychology. Marshall attended Phillips Theological Seminary and Oral Roberts University.
Dr. Marshall retired from the State having worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and Department of Human Services.
Dr. Marshall is the proud mother of three adult children, DeAndrae Sr., LaKesha and LaToya (deceased). She is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
