The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority has approved widening (four to six lanes) a six-mile stretch of the Turner Turnpike from Heyburn to Bristow beginning in 2024. The $98.5 million contract was awarded to Duit Construction. The widening will take approximately two years to complete. A new access point will also be constructed at Heyburn and Rt. 66. The project continues OTA’s plan to widen the entire Turner Turnpike from OKC to Tulsa. A 20+ mile stretch from Heyburn to Tulsa was previously widened under the Driving Forward plan. The six mile widening is contained with OTA’s 15-year Access Oklahoma Plan.
