On Thursday afternoon, June 20, 2024. Mike Jones, of Jones Law Office, in Bristow, presented several local organizations with a check from the Cecil Morton Trust. Morton was a long time resident of Bristow, a rancher and real estate investor. Morton served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired welder from American Airlines. He loved spending time on his ranch with his cattle and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a huge Elvis fan. He, during the years, contributed to many civic functions and organizations. Morton passed away in 2008 and 16 years later, per his wishes, his trustee is contributing to local organizations, to help better other people's lives.
Before his passing, Morton appointed Richard Chapman as co-trustee of the trust. Chapman kindly followed the wishes of Morton, without any compensation for his time or effort, and Chapman ultimately liquidated Morton's assets and made contributions to various organizations within the City of Bristow.
Donations from the Cecil Morton Trust were made to the following organizations, The Salvation Army, Bristow Community Center, Bristow Social Services, Bristow Historical Society, Methodist Church CDO, Trinity CDO, Presbyterian Church's Harry's Blessings in a Back Pack program and the Bristow City pool project.
