Saturday, November 9, BTown Grill held its first ever Chili Cook-off. Multiple contestants entered, but only 3 came out on top.
By Saturday afternoon, BTown’s 3-judge panel had made its decisions, awarding Sam Cooper with First Place, James Bell with Second Place, and Tim “Rhino” Davis with Third Place for their tasty chilis. All three winners also won the same respective placements in the “crowd favorite” category.
As first place winner, Cooper received $50, a gold medal, a $15 coupon from the Funky Armadillo, a $10 coupon from Miss Kitty’s Coneys, and a certificate of award. Bell, as second place winner, received prizes including $20, a silver medal, a $10 coupon from B-Town Grill, and a certificate of award. Finally, Davis took home $10, a bronze medal, a $5 coupon from B-Town Grill, and a certificate of award as the event’s third place winner.
B-Town Grill expressed its gratitude to “esteemed judges” Terri Woods, Bob Wyatt, and Jessica Garrett for their roles in making the event a success. Owners Toni and Kenneth Buchanan also thanked the B-Town Market vendors and community for helping to boost the event. The Buchanans shared a desire to make the event an annual tradition and to offer additional community events in the future, encouraging everyone to follow them on social media and visit the eatery to learn more.
B-Town Grill is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of East 1st Avenue and South Oak Street. Customers and interested parties may call 918-807-5021 to reach the restaurant. In Toni’s words, “Come on down to BTown!”
