An area resident lost his life in a single car fatality collision Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1:30 in the afternoon on 417th West Ave near the intersection of 151st Street South. Destin Renfro, age 19, of Bristow, was driving a 1994 Chevy 1500 southbound on 417th West Ave when for unknown reasons departed the roadway and rolled two and one half times coming to a rest on its top in field.There were three passengers in the truck, Xzavier Harjo, age 21, of Bristow, Jefferey Benham, age 26, of Mannford and Nathanael Rodriguez, age 22, of Depew.
Harjo was ejected approximately 100 feet from the vehicle and was taken by Creek County EMS to Carrus Lakeside Hospital, in Bristow, where he died from massive injuries sustained in the collision. Benham was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was taken by Creek County EMS to St Francis, in Tulsa, admitted in guarded condition. Rodriguez was also taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was treated and released. The driver, Renfro, was taken to St. John's, in Tulsa, and was also treated and released.
According to the OHP report, none of the occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
