January 27,1941- August 12, 2025
Ina Guyndola Roberts was born Jan. 27, 1941, to parents Andrew Grant Roberts and Eltha Staggs in Depew. She departed this life Aug. 12, 2025. She was the fifth of six children born to the family, and the last of those to be born in the private residence.
Guyndola or “Gwen”, as she preferred to be called, married Robert Leroy Ledgerwood on Feb. 20, 1959. They both resided in Bristow for the duration of their lives. Along with being a faithful member of the Bristow Advent Christian church, she excelled in many hobbies of which included macramé and countless pain staking hours of cross-stitch.
Every family member and many friends had elaborate Christmas stockings of her making. Probably the most lucrative of her endeavors was decorating cakes for special occasions. If you were anywhere close to Bristow during this lengthy baking frenzy, it is highly likely that you or someone you know enjoyed one of her many creations of all shapes, sizes and characters. At the height of the citizens band period it was common place to see her along with others of similar interest at the CB break events held nearly every weekend at various locations around northeastern Oklahoma.
Thirteen years after Robert’s passing she wed Merle Edward Moses, of Prague. At which time they thoroughly enjoyed attending weekly dances/pot luck events all over green country. This activity led to many new friendships that to this day still survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Robert Joe Ledgerwood, husbands Robert Ledgerwood and Merle Moses, brothers Homer and Elby Lee Owen Roberts and sisters Edith Powell and Bessie Tunnell, also daughter in law Shawn Ledgerwood.
She is survived by sister Viola Edwards and husband Kenney, of Milfay, two sons Curtis and wife Teresa, of Bristow and Keith Ledgerwood, of Tulsa, three grandchildren Connor, of California, Dayton and wife Kelsey, of Bristow and Courtney Ledgerwood, of Tulsa; great grandchildren Laycee and Gracie Ledgerwood, of Bristow and many nieces and nephews all of whom had great affection for her.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be made to the family online at www.matherlyfuneralhomes. com.
