Carl Calvin Cantrell was born on October 19, 1932, in Newby, to Jim and Nora Cantrell. He departed this life on Sept. 16, 2026, at the age of 93.
While still in high school and because his brothers were in the war, Carl enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard where he served with the 45th Infantry Division. On May 24, 1957, he was united in marriage to Alecia Plum. Their union was blessed with two children, Carl Jr. and Dana.
Carl began his career at Nu-Way Bleach in Bristow, then worked for Chemical Products in Tulsa, and retired from Empire R and R Supply. He was proud that he worked to support his family for over forty years. Carl enjoyed quail hunting with family and friends. He bred, raised, and raced horses. Carl supplied horses and supported Carl Jr and Dana throughout their many years of rodeo. Before retirement, golf became a passion he enjoyed the rest of his life.
Carl is survived by his wife, Alecia; his two children, Carl Cantrell Jr. and Dana Parish; three grandchildren, Kyle Parish, Dustin Parish, and Gentry Cantrell; and two great-grandchildren, Zeke Parish and Fletch Parish.
