Roy Lee Hilburn was born Feb. 14, 1939, to William and Alta Hilburn in Mountain View, Oklahoma. He departed this life Dec. 19, 2020, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and fie days.
Roy attended school in Prague, where he spent most of his childhood.
Jan. 4, 1956, Roy Hilburn and Bobbie Stone were united in marriage; to this union was born three children.
Roy worked for American Airlines, in Tulsa, as a stock clerk, providing for his family until his retirement after 29 years of service to the industry. While living in Tulsa, Roy and his family began traveling to Freedom Hill Baptist Church near Mannford, in 1971. They soon became members and Roy served several years as a deacon. Roy lived his life simple but true to God, family and friends.
Roy is survived by his wife, Bobbie, of the Bristow home; one son, Kelly and wife, Betsy, of Yukon, one daughter, Robin Murphy and husband, Jody, of Bristow; daughter in law, Teresa Hilburn, of Bristow; one brother, Robert Hilburn and wife Velta, of Moore, and one sister-in-law, Pat Hilburn, of Meeker; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Hilburn; four brothers, Alfred, Lunsford, Carl and Earl; four sisters, Gloria Johnson, Helen Ritchie, Peggy Cox and Gladys Zacharias.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec.r 26, 2020 at Freedom Hill Baptist Church near Mannford,. Interment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow.
