Opal Irene Pulley was born Jan. 17, 1935, to Fred and Edna Mattox in Bristow. She departed this life Feb. 13, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Opal was raised in and around the Bristow area graduating from Bristow High School in 1953.
Feb. 25, 1955, Opal Mattox and Ray Pulley were united in marriage; to this union five children were born. The two made their home in Bristow where Opal often balanced work in the home while also working as a machinist. She often attended church at First Baptist Church of Bristow with her sister Ruby. Opal loved being outdoors. Fishing and gardening were two of her most favorite activities. Crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and word search kept her busy on her days in. A quick run to the Goodwill for shopping was always a possibility.
Opal is survived by her five children, Billy Pulley and wife Ann, of Bristow, Eddie Pulley and wife Stephanie, of Claremore, Ronald Pulley and wife Cordelia, of Broken Arrow, Charles Pulley and wife Christy, of Milfay and Loretta Hutchins and husband Chris, of Tulsa; one sister, Ruby Skaggs; 14 grandchildren, John Sloan, Scot Sloan, Eric Sloan, Wayne Pulley, Evelyn Longnikel, Nichole Pike, Dustin Pulley, Nathan Pulley, Jessie Bridges, Cody Bridges, Amiee Wheeler, Aspen Hutchins, Austin Hutchins and Phillip Byrd.
She was preceded in death by Her parents, husband of nearly 55 years, Ray; one sister, Norma Penn and three brothers, Fred, Eddie and Roland Mattox.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00am, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow, Oklahoma.
