Merlin Revere Mosher

July 22, 1937 - May 12, 2025

Merlin Revere Mosher was born July 22, 1937, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Grover Audra Mosher and Mary Rowena Mosher. He left this earth on May 12, 2025. He graduated from Normandy High School in St. Louis County and entered the Navy at 17 where he served for four years overseas.

When he returned home, he worked for Wagner Electric for a few years then he went to college at St. Louis Baptist College, where he felt a call on his life to become a minister. He met the love of his life there and they had a whirlwind romance. He received his Master’s Degree from Anderson University and a Doctorate from United Theological Seminary in Monroe, Louisiana.

He married Shirley Douglas Mosher (affectionately known as “wife”) on July 20, 1963. This is when they started a lifetime of ministry. He pastored for over 50 years in Missouri, West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Alabama, and Oklahoma and touched thousands of lives for the Lord. They have four children, 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two on the way, they raised to love the Lord.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Shirley Mosher in Cushing, daughter and son-inlaw, Wendy and Kevin Clouse of Cushing, and their children Amanda Clouse, of Cushing, , Ashleigh and Joshua West of Sand Springs, and Zachary Clouse of Cushing, Son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Carrie Mosher of West Monroe, Lousiana and their children Drew Mosher, Abby Mosher, and Josiah Mosher, of the home and Britni and Justin Portrey of Oklahoma City, and their three children, Sullivan, Juniper, and Olive; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Angela Mosher of West Monroe, Louisiana and their children MaryHelen Mosher, Micah Mosher, Brook-Lynn Mosher, and RuthAnn Mosher of the home; Caleb and Lauren Mosher, of West Monroe, Louisiana and their children, Juliet and Lincoln; Hannah and Justin Washer, of West Monroe, Louisiana and their daughter Ivy; son and daughter-in-law Luke and Rachel Mosher of Mid-West City, and their children Georgia, Carolina and Charlotte (Charlie) of the home.

He is survived by two brothers, Gary Mosher and Randy Mosher and their families of Missouri. He is also survived by numerous other extended family and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, G.A. and Mary Mosher of St. James, Missouri and two brothers, Kenneth Mosher, of Florida and Larry Mosher, of California.

His legacy leaves four ordained ministers, seven teachers, two doctors, construction manager, engineer, business owners and much more. His ministry and life have touched many and we are all better for having known him. We are so grateful that he raised us to know we will see him again someday in heaven.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the First Church of God in Bristow.Burial followed in the Magnolia Memorial Garden Cemetery.
