Kathy Chapman

January 12, 1957 - March 4, 2026

A graveside funeral service for Bristow resident, Kathy Chapman, was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Tuskegee Cemetery #2 in rural Creek County, Oklahoma. A visitation / viewing for Mrs. Chapman was also held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Michael’s Funeral Home, of Bristow.

Kathy Lynn Chapman was born in Waco, Texas to Leroy Rigsby and Peggy A. (Worley) Rigsby on Jan. 12, 1957. She passed from this life in Tulsa on March 4, 2026 at the age of 69 years, one month, and 20 days.

With Kathy’s dad being a Coronel in the United States Air Force, he was stationed at numerous bases which made them members of the Nomadic Military Family. She graduated High School in Summersville, Missouri and attended Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio. She married Bryan Harold Chapman, Sr. in 1983 while in Missouri. They remained together until her death. Kathy and Bryan moved to Bristow from Washington Court House, Ohio six years ago. As a recognized sales associate for AVON, Kathy was skilled in sales and a talented artist. She was a successful Entrepreneur and business owner and created items for many tradeshows under the name Busy Bee Company. She was passionate about painting, particularly landscapes and pursued many other artistic endeavors. She had a keen eye for crafting and enhancing the beauty of all things. She was a hard and dedicated worker and demonstrated exceptional hospitality, never met a stranger, and she showed kindness to everyone. She held a deep affection for dogs.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father.

She leaves behind her husband: Bryan Chapman, Sr.; children: Cassandra Cooper and husband Vincent of Ohio; Bryan Chapman, Jr.; Jonathan Chapman, both of Bristow; grandchildren: Maximilian, Maverickm and Colton; her mother: Peggy Rigsby, of Ohio; brother: Robert Rigsby and wife Rhondam of Checotah; sister: Lisa Dickerson, of Ohio; nieces and nephews: Autumn, Jennifer. Kerry. Robert, Jr., Justin; and nnumerous other relatives and friends.
