Janice Lorraine Anderson

Janice Lorraine Anderson was born May 4, 1956 to Searcy and June Johnson in Bristow. She departed this life April 1, 2022 at the age of 65 years.

Janice, a resident of Bristow most all her life, grew up attending Bristow schools. She received CNA training as well as meeting her future husband, Gregory, through Job Core. Gregory Franklin Anderson and Janice Lorraine Johnson were united in marriage in 1976. They made their home in Cleveland, Ohio. Four children were born to this union. Gregory served in the military taking the family to Virginia for a short time but ultimately returned to Bristow.

Janice was a well-known community member throughout Bristow. She could often be found sitting on the porch of a morning with her cats drinking coffee. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone walking by or willing to listen. Never to be found without her cherry jubilee lipstick, Janice loved to visit plain and simple. She loved her family deeply and constantly made sure they knew it. She knew the Lord, serving him daily.

Janice is survived by one daughter, Jamilah D. Anderson; one son, Randy L. Anderson; one brother, Terry J. Johnson; two sisters, Karen D. Johnson and Connie A. Johnson Williamson; two Grandchildren, Lyric M. Anderson and Elijah C. Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Gregory and his twin; one sister, Rita and one brother, Stacy.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at New Life International Worship Center in Bristow, with Pastor Eric Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Tabor Cemetery in Slick.
