Hazel Irene Stubblefield was born Aug. 26, 1928, to Elmer Thurman and Maggie Delia Gordon in Okemah. She departed this life Aug. 21, 2024, at the age of 95.
She attended Slick High School where she enjoyed playing basketball, graduating in 1947.On Nov. 15,2000,Hazel Pagan and Bill Stubblefield were united in marriage. They enjoyed 22 years together before his passing May 19, 2022.
Hazel was a longtime resident of Bristow where she was a member of the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church. Her last year of life was spent with her great granddaughter, Alexcia and her spouse, Gary taking care of her every need.
She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Genie Duvall and husband Jack; stepson, Terry Stubblefield; grandchildren, Casie Black and husband Clayton, Michelle Hallman, Sunshine Hicks and husband Michael, Justin Arrington and wife Tracy, Gerard Arrington and wife Kristen, Brad Duvall and wife Tamara; great grandchildren, Kyle Black, Alexcia Black and husband Gary, Ashley, Nicole, Madison, and Katelynn Lecoq, Tristen Hicks, Delilah Dorroh, Abigail Arrington, Maggie, William and Ellie Duvall; two great great grandsons, Levi Martin and Jaxon Summerlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Devonna Sue Wampler, and one sister, Margaret Gibbs.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 at the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Tyson Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
