Forrest “Frosty” Whitmore

October 4, 1935 - November 17, 2023

Forrest “Frosty” Whitmore, of Milfay, passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at the age of 88. Frosty was born on Oct. 4, 1935 in Milfay. He was the son of Forrest and Maggie Gertrude (Fisher) Whitmore. Frosty was a 1954 graduate of Milfay High School. After high school, he went on to serve his country with the Oklahoma National Guard for eight years.

Frosty married Betty Ruth Smith at the First Church of God in Bristow in 1959. The couple made their home at the family farm in Milfay. Together they had three children. Frosty was a dedicated farmer. He had a passion for farming until he was called to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by preaching in several churches across Oklahoma, where he helped lead many to Christ. Upon completion of his preaching career, Frosty and Betty returned to the family farm, where they were proud to watch their children take over the family farming.

Frosty was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kevin Whitmore; four sisters and their husbands, Faustine and Lee Jackson, Edith and Frank Hopper, Evelyn and ER Spears and Peggy and Carl Alexander and one brother, Tommy Whitmore.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Ruth Whitmore; one son, Forrest Kent Whitmore and his wife, Leslie; one daughter, Kimberly Signorelli and her husband, James; his daughter-in-law, Gayle Whitmore; his sister-in-law, Irene Whitmore; 10 grandchildren, Kara Scheffe and her husband, Shaun; Sara Chambers and her husband, Erin; Jonathan Caleb Signorelli and his wife, Braylee, Kevin Bryant and his wife, Denise, Zachary Whitmore and his wife, Raven, Forest Keith Whitmore, Justin Wyre and his wife, Michelle, Lundy Wyre, Jade Woods and her husband, Nathan and Nicholas Whitmore and his wife, Savannah; fourteen great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kristin, Andrew, Kynlee, Jensen, Benjamin, Kendal, Forrest, Lexi, Silas, Waylon, Eowyn, Wyatt and Emerson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Milfay First Baptist Church. Burial immediately followed at Stroud Cemetery. The family accepted guests from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Stroud.
