Doris Marie Mudgett was born May 30, 1943 to Walter and Louise Morris in Bristow. She departed this life Feb. 27, 2026 at the age of 82 years.
Doris grew up in the Gypsy area graduating with the class of ’61 as Valedictorian. June 20, 1961 Doris Morris and Phillip Mudgett were united in marriage. They made their home in Bristow raising their three children. Phillip passed in July of 2008. Together they enjoyed 47 years. She worked many years with Kwikset on the assembly line. Doris was strong in her faith and was in constant prayer for those she loved. She always made the time for regular attendance of services as a member of Advent Christian Church. Doris loved the simple pleasures in life such as gardening her flowers, working a puzzle and getting lost in a book. Most of all,she loved her family and the youthfulness her grandchildren gave her. Doris was a great cook and made the best chicken and noodles.
Doris is survived by her children, Phillip Mudgett and wife Pam, of Coweta; Renita Stotler of Bristow and Steven Mudgett and wife Sherrie, of Moore; four sisters, Betty Byars, Mary Carlton, Ellen Smith and Judy Anderson; three grandsons, Derek Schrader, Jacob Stotler and Seth Stotler; four granddaughters, Stephanie Mudgett, Megan Cole, Lindsey Hammond and Blake Mudgett and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Phillip; two brothers, Roy and Donald Morris and two sisters, Donna Low and Ruby Blythe.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Grace Christian Church.
