Dennis Roy Young was born Oct. 6, 1954, to Annalee and Lee Roy Young in Okmulgee. He departed this life June 1, 2021, at the age of 66 years, sevenmonths and 26 days.
Dennis, a 1972 graduate of Bristow High School, was a lifelong Bristow area resident.
On April 26, 1974, Dennis Young and Patricia Blackwell were united in marriage; to this union were born three children. Dennis worked tirelessly providing for his family in the oil and gas industry. His vast knowledge and expertise in this area took him not only through the oil fields of Oklahoma, but such places as the Gulf and Siberia.
Dennis loved working with his hands. Whether it be feeding cows, shooting guns or mowing the grass his time spent outdoors was a known favorite. Time spent with his grandkids was always a joyous occasion. He was a family man who strived to always show his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, of the Bristow home; two sons, Brent Young and wife Sharon, of Edmond; Doug Young and wife Melissa, of Jenks; his mother, Anna Young, of Drumright; two brothers, Steve and Tim Young; two sisters, Debbie Wiginton and Kim Allen; five grandchildren, Zeke and Molly Young, of Edmond and Malachi, Chloe’ and MacPhearson Young, of Jenks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy and one daughter, Kristen Young. Dennis’s family would like to thank Traditions Hospice for the care given to Dennis these last few weeks.
Graveside Memorial Services were held 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Reverend Raymond Frizzelle officiating.
