Danny Wayne Anderson was born Feb. 25, 1940, to Daniel and Dorothy Anderson in Milfay. He departed this life June 22, 2022 at the age of 82 years.
Upon graduating high school, Danny enlisted in the United States Army. While serving he worked as a helicopter mechanic. After spending some time in Europe, he was honorably discharged in 1962. Danny made his way to Sand Springs, in 1978 taking a position with Sheffield Steel as a maintenance technician, where he worked to support his family. He gave them 35 years before his retirement. Danny had spent the last few months with his daughter, DeAnna, moving to Lake Charles, Louisiana in February of this year. He loved spending time outdoors. Time with family was precious and always a highlight. Summers floating the Illinois River are the fondest of memories.
Danny is survived by two children, Daniel Mark Anderson, of Cordova, Tennessee and DeAnna Dowden and husband Kim, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; six siblings, Bonnie Harrington, Charlene Benson, Judy Bradford, William Anderson, Linda Hobbs and James Anderson; six grandchildren, Audra Michelle Merritt, Anthony Anderson, Malayah Dowden, Abigail Dowden, Kasey Dowden and Dakota Dowden; one great grandchild, Anders Archer Merritt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Brickey and two brothers, Bobby Jo Anderson and Steven Anderson.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Welty Cemetery.
