Daniel James Abbott was born to George and Sylvia Abbott Dec. 9, 1952 in Bristow. He departed this life Nov. 19, 2025 at the age of 72 years.
Daniel attended Bristow Schools and graduated with Class of 71. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force Serving honorably. June 23, 1973, Daniel Abbott and Marilyn Kay Peeper were united in marriage, to this union two children were born. Daniel left the Air Force and returned to Bristow in 1976. He found work with Ted Runt Construction and was there until Feb. 27, 1978 when he began his career with W.C. Norris; manufacturing sucker rods, retiring in 2017. After retirement he done only what he wanted to. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved riding his Harley Trike. He could fix just about -anything that was broken. His Grand kids would say “if Grandpa couldn’t fix it. No one could”. Daniel loved his family he would walk through fire for his grandkids and great grand kids. His grandkids and great grandkids loved going fishing and hunting with Him. They all started wanting to drive his boats at an early age. Daniel was honest as the day was long. He meant what he said, and you could trust his word. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
Daniel is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Marilyn; daughter, Christie Walker and husband Charles; grandsons, Mikey Griffith and wife Haley, Ian McGuire and wife Kelsi, Tanner McGuire, granddaughter, Reata Walker; two great granddaughters, Maelyn McGuire, Clementine Griffith; one great grandson, Mavrick James Lee McGuire; five brothers, John and wife Feona, David, Donnie and wife Jean, Michael and wife Celese and Joe; three sisters, Jane Johnson, Amanda Nedlose and Sharon Mann Husband Larry; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie McGuire; parents, George and Sylvia Abbott; father and mother-in-law Wilber and Jearldine Peeper; three brothers, Sam, Jeremiah, and Lonnie Abbott; one sister, Mary Chambers; two sisters-in-law Janie and Wanda Peeper and one grandson, Charles Wyatt Walker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m , Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 at Hutchin-Maples Matherly Chapel. Condolences maybe left for the family online at www.matherlyfuneralhomes.co m
