March 11, 1936 - June 8, 2024
Betty Ruth Keeling was born March 11, 1936, to John and Rosa Farmer in Olive. She departed this life June 8, 2024, at the age of 88 years surrounded by the ones she loved so deeply…her husband and her three children.
God saw that she was tired and whispered to her...spread your wings and fly beautiful angel, you have accomplished your journey here on Earth.
Betty grew up attending school in Olive. She was number 10 of 13 children.
Betty Ruth Farmer and Charles Eugene Keeling were united in marriage on May 25, 1953. They were blessed with three children making their home in Kiefer. Betty, devoted wife and wonderful mother, spent her days keeping the home and raising the children. With her beautiful blue eyes and enormous heart, she welcomed ALL.
Other than devoting her entire life to her family, they operated Gene’s Roustabout and Welding Service until retirement in 2015.
She operated a ceramic shop from her home for several years, played Bingo, collected Beanie Babie, spent time at their cabin at Grand Lake.
With the helping hands of family, several puzzles were completed.
But one of her greatest joys was feeding her birds and gathering with her family. Many birthdays, special occasions and always Christmas Eve were celebrated at “Mamaw’s House”.
Betty is survived by her husband, of 71 years, Charles (Gene); three children, Donna Thomas and husband Danny, of Kiefer, Ron and wife Karen, of Sapulpa and Cecil Keeling and Jessica Teasley, of Kiefer; one brother Johnnie J. Farmer of Bristow; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings.
Graveside Services were held at the Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:30 am.
