Betty Jean King was born to Frank and Emma Wilson Jan. 3, 1931 in Stroud. She departed this life Feb. 25, 2025 at the age of 94 years.
Betty, a Sapulpa area resident, was a 1949 graduate of Tabernash High School in Tabernash, Colorado.
Betty and Norman Johnson were united in marriage 1950 and together they began a family and life together.
Betty loved to travel. This love to her many different places always having a love for the Mountains of Colorado. Her ranch near Welty Oklahoma became her home and way of life about 1980 when she left Colorado. Aside from cattle ranching, Jean took up many hobbies that came with life on the ranch such as; carpentry and woodwork. Jean was a talented painter which was reflected in her many paintings.
Jean is survived by her eight children, Lee Jacobson, Dianne Moore, Tim King, Gerald Lewis Johnson, Susie Wilzoch, Luanne Guerrero, Scooter Tucker and Kathy Charles; 18 grandchildren, Linda K. Holomon, Jeffrey A. Moore, Jeffrey Brewer, Jackie Beretta, Hailaro Guerrero, Lilly Guerrero, Jeremy Brewer, Salvador Guerrero, Cory Allen Dennis, Brian Wilzoch, Kelsie Lopez, Kalie Burrows, Logan Frailey, Taylor Alexander Johnson, Nicholas Tucker, Lance Frailey, Daniel Tucker, Tanner Benjamin Johnson and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday Feb. 28, 2025 at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Home. Interment followed at Bristow City Cemetery.
