So-called prophets today have predicted the end of our world. You may remember some of them. Fifteen years ago a radio preacher claimed the end would come on May 21, 2011. When May 22 rolled around, he changed it to October 21st.
This date was declared around the world. Some even emptied their bank accounts (although we are unsure how they got rid of the money).
Today’s end-of-the-world predictions have this in common – they are always wrong!
God said to Moses, “I will raise up for them a prophet from among their countrymen ( Jesus!)…and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them everything that I command him. And it shall come about that whoever does not listen to My words which he speaks in My name, I Myself will require it of him. But the prophet who speaks a word arrogantly in My name, a word which I have not commanded him to speak…that prophet shall die” (Deuteronomy18: 18- 20).
God has spoken many times through His prophets (Hebrews 1). They were God’s true messengers.
God says that you can recognize His true prophets: “When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true…The prophet has spoken it arrogantly; you are not to be afraid of him” (Deuteronomy 8:2).
When Isaiah spoke the following, the powerful Babylonian Empire was the greatest civilization. It was like someone today saying it against New York City!
Hear God’s word ”concerning Babylon which Isaiah …saw: …It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, nor will shepherds allow their flocks to lie down there. But desert creatures will lie down there, and their houses will be full of owls; ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there” (Isaiah 13:12, 20-21). Saddam Hussein planned to rebuild it, but he ultimately failed!
Peter wrote that the end of the world won’t be marked on anyone’s calendar. Please read 2 Peter chapter 3 in your personal Bible.
When God ends our world, all will know, coming without warning.
You need to prepare for that day, now! Learn more about Jesus, be immersed, then keep learning God’s Word (Matthew 28:18-20).
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5: 8) Will you face your last day with confidence, with Jesus? Are you “in Christ” (Galatians 3)? There’s no fear of death or the end of the world when Jesus’ Spirit lives in you!
