National Letter Carrier Food Drive approaching

Each year on the second Saturday of the month, the National Association of Letter Carrier’s (NALC) holds its annual food drive. The nation's largest single-day drive. This year it will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. rNot only does this suppoet local food pantries but it helps combat food insecurity in over 10,000 cities and towns.

Residents can participate by leaving a bag of non-perishable food by their mailbox for collection by their letter carrier. Place nonperishable items, such as canned soup, vegetables, pasta, or peanut butter, by the mailbox on May 9, by 8:30 a.m. and you are done. The letter carrier will do the rest. The non perishable food items donated here will stay local, being donated to the Bristow Social Services.

The need is great and you can help. You are invited to join letter carriers and the partner organizations in the fight to end hunger in our communities by participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
