Last year Riley Braden started a yearly art contest fundraiser where all proceeds she raised went to Macy’s Cradle, in Sapulpa. The theme of the art show is “What’s So Great About Bristow?” The show will be held at the Montfort and Allie B. Jones Memorial Library. All finalists work will be on display at the library from May 6 through May 9. Awards will be presented on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. Deadline to turn in your work is May 5, by 6 p.m. All art work must be an original piece from any medium that relates to the contest theme. There are three age groups, Little Buddies, ages 0-7; Junior, ages 8-12 and Seniors, ages 13-18. Artwork will be thumb tacked so the bulletin boards in the library conference room, therefore, please matte your artwork so it does not get thumb tack holes in it. When you take your artwork to be entered in the contest, please bring a donation item and donate upon entry of the contest. Items needed are baby socks, chapstick, hydration packets, hand lotion, foot lotion and belly butter. All donations are for Macy’s Cradle, a non-profit family center for expecting mothers with unplanned pregnancies or facing difficult situations.
It’s team of professionals are dedicated to making the journey easier. They provide counseling, medical assistance, and resources to help families make informed decisions about their pregnancy.
This is a safe space where one can share their concerns and get the help they need. The center’s mission is to empower individuals to make the best choices for them and their baby.
The center is located at 1500 S. Main, Sapulpa and can be reached at 918.347.9127.
This art contest is organized by a Bristow 4H Junior member. If you have any questions regarding the contest, please reach out to Braden’s parents at fjbraden2008@gmail.com or call/text
