Bristow Garden Club finds a home

The Bristow Garden Club was established in 1937 and is still in existence today. The group has met in different locations and now has found a new home in the Chamber of Commerce building, commonly known as 'The Purple Building'.

While the values and traditions of the original Garden Club remain, during the past couple of years the focus has become more on community service and educational programs. They continue to meet every second Thursday of the month at 1:30 pm. Planned special evening activities will be on the third Thursday of the month.

A fundraising BINGO game will be held on Thursday, January 15th, starting at 6:30 pm. Prizes will include live plants and related items. The money raised will be used for 'Color Oklahoma', which helps beautify our Bristow Park by planting wildflower seeds. Funds will also provide awards for the 'Yard of the Month' and upcoming workshops for children and adults.

After the February members meeting, there will be a program open to the public called 'Planting a Pollinator Garden'. For more information call or text Margaret at 918-4064661.
