Born Oct. 17,1930, Esterlene Rita Smallwood of Bristow, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2025, at the age of 95.
Esterlene lived a life rooted in family, faith, and love. Known for her strong will, kind heart, and a love for good conversation, she touched the lives of many through her warmth and wisdom. Esterlene worked for many years as a teacher’s aide, where her patience and compassion made a lasting impact on the students and those she worked alongside.
Esterlene had a passion for collecting antiques and finding beauty in things with a story to tell. Her home, reflecting her appreciation for the past; was always welcoming, timeless, and filled with stories, laughter, love and comfort. She had recently began collecting pioneer woman dish sets. She loved to cook. Her grace, strength, and a loving spirit were a cornerstone in her life. Esterlene is survived by four grandchildren; Joshua Colegrove, Mellisa Chandler and husband Chris, Cassandra Colegrove, and Elizabeth Colegrove, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Melvin Colegrove and Bob Smallwood and one son Virgil Colegrove.
