What comes to mind when you think of home? Familiar people? Known surroundings? You know the place because you lived there. Even the dear dialect shouts, “You’re home!”
Some people are still hoping to find “home.” A move gives you new perspectives, but what makes it home?
You’re probably thrilled to visit the place you once called home, but your past has moved. Life changes.
You once were young. You’d enjoyed childhood games with kids in the neighborhood. You had a strong sense of belonging. Precious memories and laughter reappear when thinking about the place where you were welcome. You were home. You may now want to return there.
How would you feel about going to a place unlike anywhere you’ve ever seen? Here’s the catch - once there, you can’t go anywhere else. No doovers. That place is now your forever home.
This is certain: this life ends when the Lord calls your name! You are certainly going to one of two places. Once there, it’s permanent. You will then be in an eternal home!
Your Good News is this: Jesus wants you with Him in His eternal home. He said, “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms…I am going there to prepare a place for you…I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be” ( John 14:1-3; see 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
In 2 Corinthians 5:1, Paul compares your current earthly home with your future eternal home (Please read it in your Bible).
“For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come” (Hebrews 13:14).
The Bible presents hell as a place of unimaginable torment, pain, and suffering. Jesus gives us a glimpse into hell with an end-of-life description, in which YOU make the choice! All souls will go to a place of suffering or the place of comfort with Jesus (Luke 16:19-31). Please read this passage in your own Bible.
Jesus once promised a dying thief, “Today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
He also said, “A poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and a rich man also died and was buried” (Luke 16:22). This contrast presents a serious reality (Luke 16:19-31).
“He Himself has said, 'I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,' so that (you can) confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid…” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
You don’t have to fear going to your final place. Jesus wants you to go with Him to heaven! Where will your final home be?
Please choose to trust and obey Jesus, and go with Him!
