Bristow Methodists to observe World Communion Sunday

This coming Sunday is World Communion Sunday. The First United Methodist Church in Bristow will join with tens of thousands of other churches around the world in sharing in the bread and cup of Jesus. The Bible says, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.' On World Communion Sunday the people of the church remember this great truth.

This special day is observed on the first Sunday in October each year. It is a way that all churches of different denominations and backgrounds and nationalities can remember that all of us worship one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As the Bible says that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess in heaven and on earth and under the earth that Jesus is Lord.

The United Methodists in Bristow gather on Sunday mornings for worship at 9:30 a.m. People of all churches, races, and countries of origin are welcome to join them for this special service.

This year's World Communion Sunday message will be entitled, 'A Message for Those He Loved Most' by Rev. Chuck Horton. The scripture will be Luke 4:16-30.
