A Story to Tell, A Story to Read:

Author and illustrator Kylie Shockley releases “Imaginings” her third book

In Bristow, where daily life hums with quiet charm, some individuals rise above the ordinary, answering a calling to connect and inspire. These stars bridge divides and strengthen bonds, and the Bristow Creative Arts Center has once again provided a platform for one such gifted individual: author, illustrator, and multifaceted talent Kylie Shockley. Her latest book, Imaginings, weaves poetic storytelling with vibrant illustrations that ignite the imaginations of both young and old.

Supported by her husband, an educator and coach, and her young sons curiosity (inspiring her second book, Racoon’s First Christmas Wish), she is strategically balancing family life with time for her bold creative visions. Her brand, Bramble Cave, draws its name from the blackberry brambles and the earth-sheltered home where she has lived her entire life, influencing her first book “The Bramble Cave Blackberry Compendium.

As a dedicated conservationist, Shockley champions efforts to preserve Bristow’s natural spaces and heritage, reflecting her commitment to Bristow and surrounding neighbors. Her recent event at the Creative Arts Center, where she shared her journey into writing books and the near release of two new books. Her hard work and dedication are gifts to Bristow, weaving threads of imagination, togetherness, and environmental stewardship. Through her stories and community engagement, she’s not just crafting tale, she’s building a legacy of connection and care that will go on for generations.
