What’s On Your Mind?

Everyone has done something we now regret. Young people do things that hurt others. Have you ever damaged someone’s property? Have you taken sexual advantage of a young girl or boy? Have you watched porn?

If a family member, parent, or spouse walked in, what would they think? Here’s the spoiler alert - someone already knows! Now, what do you think about the things you’ve done? What’s on your mind?

All of your thoughts and actions are known before they happen!

Paul tells us, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God knows what you’ve done! He knows us all!

Jesus taught, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:27-28). Have you ever done that? Someonehassaid,“It’s the second look!”

After the Sunday lesson, have you ever asked the preacher, “Who’s been talking to you about me?” You think you’re caught. You are! But not by the preacher.

Please read in your Bible, Romans 6:20-23. There is hope in Jesus!

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:1213).

The all-encompassing word of God will always find you out! What’s on your mind?

A well-known man in the Bible was the worst sinner of all sinners! He was seen putting Christians in prison, killing some, torturing many, and hating them all. Have you done or thought about doing - that to anyone? (Please read in your Bible, Colossians 2:9-14 and 1 Timothy 1:12-17).

The apostle Paul reminds the church, “…you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard” (Colossians 1:21-23).

Will you turn to Jesus - or to sin?
