Meet the Author

From noon til 2 p.m. Saturday, November 30, The Old Crow Showroom hosted a meet-the-author event, when patrons met Kylie Shockley. The Old Crow Showroom, located at 123 South Main Street, reported the event a success, noting that the author was able to meet with locals and sell some of her books and artwork.

Christmas Parade

Thursday, December 5, offers many seasonal activities: an art show at the library from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., vendor booths for shopping and locally owned Reindeer Club reindeer encounters at East 8th Avenue and North Main Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Santa visiting the Toy Museum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the community Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m.

Touch of Christmas

Cornerstone Church is holding its annual blessings event on Saturday, December 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All blessing recipients must acquire a ticket from event staff and law enforcement prior to entering the line. Tickets will be distributed at the intersection of East 10th Avenue and North Pine Street. No vehicles will be allowed to line up prior to 8 a.m.

VFW Auxiliary Activities

Saturday, December 7, Bristow Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 3656 will host Wake Island Day at the Wake Island Memorial. The organization will play a movie, host activities for children, and hold a bake sale. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will run until 2 p.m. The group will also draw the winner for its raffle. The winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card.

Living Christmas Tree

First Baptist Church presents its Living Christmas Tree to the public in a dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 7, at 3 p.m. and in two performances on Sunday, December 8, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Tobacco Quit Kits

Creek County TSET Healthy Living Program recently announced that “tobacco quit kits” are available at various locations throughout the county, including 2, locally: Bristow Public Library and Bristow Social Services.

Social Services Seeks Holiday Sponsors

With more than 350 children signed up for gifts through Bristow Social Services Holiday Hero program, the organization is seeking sponsors to provide gifts for the youngsters. Contact social services at 918367-5400 for more information.
