These days, it seems as though everyone has a camera in hand, capturing every moment of life, which is why so many of us miss out on actually creating memories by living our lives. In fact, in years past, we booked professional photographers to capture lasting memories for us.
With available funds ever tightening and the excuse of cell phone cameras in our pockets, we have foregone the professional photos. The problem? We miss out on creating those memories with our families, and we never get to see our beloved family member behind the camera, either. Fortunately, one county resident acknowledges our needs to make and record memories with our families while still being able to pay bills, and she gets to fulfill her passions for photography and serving the community at the same time.
With a young family of her own, Lauren Baker discovered early into her marriage and motherhood the desire to capture every moment with a photograph; however, she also learned how unaffordable professional photography can be for families, leaving many unable to acquire quality images while making memories with loved ones. Possessing both
See Photographer Page Three photographic skill and passion and a desire to help others, Baker seized the opportunity and started Rivercreek Photography about a year ago.
Through Rivercreek Photography, Baker creates avenues for people to secure professional photos of cherished life events at prices they can afford. She has been known to work with families in a variety of ways, including uniquely tailoring sessions, setting up outdoor sessions as well as attending events, and sometimes offering special “pay-what-you’re-able” sessions, ensuring that they will always be able to look back at her photos and reminisce. In the past, she has even donated her time and skills by setting up her camera at community and charitable events to capture memories, attending events like those of Shop with a Cop.
Additionally, Baker creates her own charitable events by offering discounts to raise money or collecting goods for causes dear to her heart. For example, from December 1 to December 21, Baker is offering a discount on photography sessions for anyone who brings an unopened gift with them to their sessions. Why? Well, her young son, Bryar, has been in the children’s hospital a couple of times, and she recalled how grateful her family was when he was gifted with a new toy and coloring books. Remembering how much it meant to their family at the time of his hospitalization, she decided to contribute.
Although photography and helping families are her passions, she still works a fulltime job, conducting photo sessions in her spare time. She said, “Photography started out as a hobby that I will never consider a job due to how excited I get when I know my clients will walk away with beautiful photos of moments that make time stand still! … ! I want to make sure everyone that wants photos gets their photos of their special day or even a memory they want to remember forever!”

Finally, Baker noted that nothing she has done or continues to do would be possible without the love and support of her husband and their son, saying “I have been married for over 6 years to my amazing husband, Joey, who has done nothing but stick by my side
