Library Fun!
The Bristow Public Library, aka The Montfort & Allie B. Jones Memorial Library, will be hosting its annual Woodland Queen Fall Festival on Saturday, October 26. The festival typically includes a menagerie of outdoor booths with lots of free treats for kiddos, including face painting, animal balloons, games, arts & crafts, costume parades, and more. The library also hosts a book sale inside the library. Visit the library to learn more or attend the festival to check out the attractions.
Hide & Seek
Depew First Responders will hold a hide-and-seek competition at 8 p.m. on October 26. Entrants must be registered at Depew Town Hall before October 25. A maximum of 100 entrants will be allowed, and entry costs $10 per participant. Official rules are available at Depew Town Hall.
Permits Required
Following resident reports and social media posts of individuals knocking on doors and appearing on security cameras, Bristow Police Department got involved, identifying some of those individuals and posting a social media warning of its own: “IF you are going door to door selling something get a permit to do so or you will be cited.”
Wake Island Day
The Bristow City Council and Mayor Kris Wyatt recently approved a proclamation declaring December 7 Wake Island Day. Bristow VFW Auxiliary is planning many events for December 7, so be sure to check back for more information.
Fall Craft Fair
Faith Baptist Church of Slick held its Fall Craft Fair last Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair offered gifts, seasonal décor, home-baked goods, western clothing and wares, handmade goods, jewelry, and concessions. Door prize drawings were also held. The church’s Women of Faith organized and hosted the event.
Artisans & Gardeners Market
Bristow’s Artisans & Gardeners Market wrapped up its 2024 season last Saturday, October 12. However, a few of those vendors will continue to sell their homegrown produce on Saturdays at B-Town Gril
