Mayor Kris Wyatt shared a bit of personal fun with friends and the community on Monday via Facebook when she blocked her poor, unsuspecting husband, Bob, from her post and requested that anyone and everyone tag him and comment about their purportedly outlandishly painted home. Her post read “Here’s a favor. Some of you may have noticed that we recently had our house painted. But Bob doesn’t know it, yet. (He’s blocked from this.) To be fair, we’ve been on the waiting list for months, but he wouldn’t help me pick a color. Two people have texted him that they like the colors, but they didn’t know it was a secret. I want to confuse him. They mentioned the colors red and green. If you would please post to his timeline and tell him that “the yellow makes a nice statement’ or the ‘orange is bold and trendy’ or something along those lines, I’d appreciate it.” Naturally, everyone delivered and mild hilarity ensued. Numerous people responded. Enjoy a few: “I knew you were a big Pirate fan, but that Purple matches the Chamber!” – Carolyn Smith “Bob, the green is very lodgy looking, the door is like strawberry jam. It looks wonderful! Kristine Wyatt did a wonderful job picking the colors.” – BPD Chief Kendra Raney “I love the green and gold on you house it’s nice to have another packer fan in town!!” Danine Smith “Hey did kris do that mural on your house? That’s very cool” Leann Adkins

It looks great!” - Michelle Shelton “Bob Wyatt, Kristine Wyatt, can I get a photo and comment of the Skittles paint job for the paper this week? Pretty please?” - Katy Battenfield And everyone’s absolute favorite: “I’m a little worried about the new paint color impacting your resale value. We should talk!” - Summer Witty Kris later updated her post, saying “you guys totally delivered! I had to let him in on it though! Thank you so much and know that I’ll gladly do the same for you!”
Needless to say, the Wyatts’ invitation enlivened the community and awakened a spirit of innocent fun too often missing. Everyone shared some laughter as word spread amongst friends and neighbors. Thank you, Kris and Bob, for advancing joy.
