Lego Build Night

Saturday, June 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., kiddos aged 4 and up are invited to attend a Lego build night by the Bristow Fellowship Church of the Nazarene at 301 East 4th Avenue. Lego kits and pieces will be provided for use during the event, and the church will provide dinner and snacks for the children in attendance. The event is designed to offer a fun, safe activity for community children. Attendees must enter the church through the doors on the south side of the building along East 4th Avenue.

“Flag Etiquette” Session Held at Library

A local teen planned and hosted a flag etiquette and proper care class in coordination with local veterans at the Bristow Public Library at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, in anticipation of upcoming Flag Day, tomorrow, June 14. Any and all were welcomed to attend.

Local Eatery to be Featured on “America’s Best Restaurants”

Anchor 66 recently announced on social media that it will be featured on “America's Best Restaurants” this summer. To thank customers, owners plan to give away two $25 gift cards to their eatery and will draw the winning names at the time of America’s Best Restaurants visit. America’s Best Restaurants is a restaurant marketing business, claiming to help connect businesses with resources and customers.

Friends of the Library Hosted Cakewalk

Bristow Public Library’s friends board held a cakewalk with music and lots of baked goodies last Saturday, June 8, in the large conference room.

Day Camp Began and Swimming Pool Opened!

Although the Bristow Pirate Plunge was not open in time for Day Camp’s opening day, June 10, Bristow Fire Department cooled off campers with a truck and hose spewing water that rained down upon the delighted campers.

The pool was set to open Tuesday, June 11, to the campers’ and community’s pleasure.

Animal Swap

June’s Animal Swap with all things farm and homemade related is set to kick off at 9 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. this Sunday, June 16, in the Tractor Supply Parking Lot. Domestic pet-type animals, including dogs and cats, are not allowed for swap.

Sonic Breaks Ground

Groundwork recently began in the empty lot on the northeast corner of West 4th Avenue and South Elm Street. With crews erecting barriers and moving the dirt, locals began wondering what was planned for the lot. The construction work will result in a new Sonic, complete with a drivethru lane, with a goal of completion by summer’s end.
