Mayors’ Corner

Public safety is a primary focus of City government. Here’s an update on changes in Bristow in the last 5 months.

We have added another fulltime firefighter to the staff. This improves responsiveness and can help to lower home-owner insurance rates.

We have installed Flock cameras at the entrances and exits to the city. To date, these have been responsible for the retrieval of several stolen vehicles. We anticipate these being useful in solving and potentially preventing crimes.

We have increased police presence at all athletic events, including the “away” games. (We still have officers patrolling in the schools.)

This week, the PD got two metal detectors, to enhance safety in City Hall as well as other places where such surveillance is warranted.

We continue to look for ways to keep our city safe. If you have concerns, please don’t hesitate to call.

As always, the public is invited and encouraged to attend City Council meetings, which are held the first and third Mondays at 7pm. Theye are livestreamed on the Bristow City Hall Facebook page
