Throughout world history many have claimed to see unusual places, activities, and even living beings. Some have truthfully witnessed what they claim. Often, however, if another has not seen what is claimed, then doubt is thrown upon the person and their claim.
Have you ever witnessed anything so amazing, so against the majority, that a challenge to your credibility causes you to begin doubting it?
One thing is certain: if you say you saw something out of the ordinary, how is it possible that anyone else can discredit what you claim? They didn’t see what you claim, they weren’t there, so it didn’t happen! Not so!
In reality, some have made the astounding claims of seeing and experiencing what others can only hope to see for themselves.
When Jesus told His close followers that He was going away for a while, they needed proof of His astounding claims.
“Thomas said to Jesus, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. The only way anyone can come to the Father is through me! If you would have known me, you would have known my Father…you have seen Him.’ Philip said to Jesus, ‘Lord, show us the Father; that would be enough for us’…( Jesus then said) the person who has seen me has seen the Father’” ( John 14:1-9).
If the disciples needed a memory jog to help convince them of Jesus’ claims, He then told them, “Believe me, I am in the Father and the Father is in me. At least believe, because of these miracles. I am telling you the truth” (vs. 11).
What makes Jesus’ claims more credible than many being made today? How can you trust what they say about Jesus? Multiple eyewitnesses! During a Bible study, the teacher was revealing some Scripture about Noah’s flood and the ark saving only eight people from perishing. One student laughed! She had been raised under the fist of Communism to disbelieve any Bible claims. Whether or not she believed the Bible account, her disbelief does not invalidate it.
Anything that Jesus said or did, anything about Jesus, about heaven, worship, anything about your personal salvation, even about hell, has validation in the Bible alone! That is your proof. Eyewitnesses have written it for you to know Jesus!
The God who came to Earth to save us is the Lord Jesus! If you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father also. Read about Him in your own Bible. Have you seen Jesus?
