As everyone traveling on Main Street has noticed, the Bradford Pear trees that adourned the street from 9th to 10th were recently cut down. According to Mayor Rick Pinson, this was done due to the roots of the trees growing under the sidewalks and destroying them and damaging the stem wall to the school. The sidewalks will be replaced and will be extra wide walks, replacing the existing walk all the way out to the curb with possible planters to add some color to the area. The trees at the train depot are also being removed due to the damage they are doing to the buildings there.
